I had a few Boxes in the field throwing me an intermittand E197-0000 (Serial Communication Error between DC Control and Fixing/Feeder Drive Board). Service Manual says as usual: Replace Boards (to make Canon rich) but not with me:mad:
I haunted the Error down to an unreliable connection between the fixing/feeder assy and the main frame connector. I think nearly every experienced technician has a pretty little package in reach, containing some screws, jesus rings, springs and washers, so do I. I got some washers, placed them between the fixing/feeder assy and the connector, so it raised 3mm and make a reliable contact in future with the main frame connector. Problem solved:)
