Miscellaneous IR 5055 Not recognizing the correct paper size on the glass.

I have an IR 5055 that when you put a LTR size paper to copy on the glass (either direction) when you close the lid the copier defaults to Legal paper. Does anyone know what this could be. I have been thru the setting but I know I am missing something that is right in front of my face I just can't put my finger on it. Any help would be appreciated.
