Canon IR C5051 toner levels

Hi Guys.

I got two c5051's used. Replaced C5185's. Simple question I just can't find an answer to. Trying to figure out how to monitor the consumable levels. 5185 gave a bar with levels left under consumables on the panel. 5050 just says "OK". The 5050 web interface does show bars, but I'm not sure it functions the same (the bars all show full). Black and cyan were low in one and panel said needed replacement. Using your instructions to unlock the doors on the other machine with full ones, I swapped the two between the two machines. So now the black and cyan toner cartridges that were low and needing replacement are in the other machine. However it now shows them OK.

I assumed if I put low/empty ones in, it should immediately show them as low needing replacement. But they didn't.

I'd also like to be able to check current levels for ordering purposes, but it doesn't seem to give this info.

Any input or is this machine not going to give this info accurately like the 5185?

Konica 8650 Tray 3 printing

Hi all

I have a client with a 8650 printer who when choose 'auto' in the print driver for which tray the printer prints from, the printer flags a message saying size/media error.

ie: So they have an Plain A3 document and there is A3 plain paper in cassette 2, they choose print with the 'auto' tray select settings (to automatically choose the correct paper tray), the application used is Microsoft Word and the document is set to A3.

This only happens when they want to print to the bottom cassette (cassette 2).

Now when they choose the actual tray rather than leave it on auto, the printer prints the document....

They need it to work automatically so if there is A3 paper inthe tray the printer automatically chooses that tray and visa versa for A4...

Is there a setting I have missed??

Xerox workcenter 5665 cass. lift help

Hi Folks,
I'm working on workCentre 5665, and cassette #2 doesn't seem to be lifting, I'm thinking a lift motor...?
course it says load paper, but I'm not hearing the paper being lifted. Any feedback appreciated, or a part number help, as I can order thru The Parts Drop, if thats what I need..Thanks !!

RISO RP 3700 does nothing when turned on?

Hello,

I'm having an issue with my RISO RP 3700. But now when I power ON the machine it does absolutely nothing. No sounds, no panel messages, just nothing. The issue started when I moved my machine from basement location that was a little dusty to my new studio. Before the move, the machine worked flawlessly. The only activity I notice when I power the machine ON is a light near the parallel printer plug illuminates, (see photo). Through my own research I suspect the power supply unit is dead. But before I invest in the part I wanted to get some more input. Any thoughts, advice, experience with this issue is appreciated.

MX-FN27 inner finisher problems

Hello, I am working on a 3050N with fn-27 inner finisher and PN-14 hole punch. Customer is hole punching and stapling. The problem is on about 3 sets out of 10 the first page out does not coma back all the way6 and gets missed when stapling. It is off by about a quarter inch. It is always the first sheet out that does not get stapled. The machine is pretty new,I have tried cleaning the band rollers and rubber flappers ect but no difference. Hope someone else has suggestions or has seen this problem. Thanks for any help

MP 4001 Inbound Faxes STUCK? Try this trick!!

In all my $&^@ years of working on copiers/printers/computers, I've NEVER seen this happen. Hopefully it's save someone out there some time, and some hair on their heads!!

An MP 4001 was not printing out faxes... (TX was fine) Job history showed they were received OK, it would just not print them out. Had to clear out the fax memory in SP mode, then tested with a "Fax back" service. TX went through fine once again... Then RX showed an incoming fax, then the screen would get stuck on "Processing-Printing" and nothing would come out.

The Help-Desk guy I spoke with suggested I see how full cassette #1 was...it was actually OVER-filled. I removed about 50 sheets of paper, and it started printing immediately!!

....I've never seen this before. The Rep said it was a "quirk" on this series.



Please file this in your brains, and maybe you can save yourself an hour of troubleshooting!!
